August 10, 1932 - February 10, 2015
Alfonso DiMaggio of New Providence passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Overlook Medical Center at the age of 82.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, Feb 13th from 4-8 pm at Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Ave, Berkeley Heights. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 AM at Our Lady of Peace Church, South St. New Providence on Sat, Feb 14th, entombment will follow at St. Teresa's Mausoleum.

Born in Elizabeth, Al has been a resident of New Providence since 1958. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a graduate of the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts, majoring in Industrial Design. He later attended Pratt Institute with the same major. Al was a furniture designer for 40 years designing grandfather clocks, wall and mantle clocks for Howard Miller and Seth Thomas and also upholstered furniture for Directional of North Carolina, occasional furniture for Madison.

Al is survived by his beloved wife Jane (nee Giannetti) DiMaggio, who he married in 1956, his loving son Christopher DiMaggio, sister Carmen Decker and a host of nieces and nephews. Al was predeceased by his son Marc DiMaggio in 1996 and siblings Joseph and Frank DiMaggio.
