Mrs. Olive Rowland, Former Resident, Dies in Kansas." Mrs. Olive Mae Rowland, 72, a former Bowen resident, died September 16th at the Axtell Christian hospital in Newton, Kansas. She had been in failing health for some time and was admitted to the hospital on Sunday. Olive, daughter of Charles C. and Margaret Griggs, was born at Bowen, April 25, 1880. On July 25, 1899 she was united in marriage to Samuel M. Robertson and to this union, one son Harold, was born. Mr. Robertson died August 2, 1901. She was later married to Charles Rowland. For a number of years she had made her home with her son and daughter-in-law, in Newton. In addition to her son, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Minnie G. Hollis, of Manhattan, Kansas, and a brother, Fred Griggs, of San Diego, California. Funeral service and burial were at Newton on Thursday, September 18."
