According to NOTTINGHAM QUAKERS 1620 - 1889 by Alice J Beard, p.32, Mary was the widow of Joseph Coulson. She died on the 10th day of the 9th month 1816 aged about 90 and was buried at West Nottingham. In 1816 the only Quaker cemetery in the area was located between Harrisville and West Nottingham.

According to the Sons of the American Revolution Membership Applications (found on ancestry.com) Joseph and Mary had a son, Joseph Coulson, Jr, (1750-1835), who fought in the Revolutionary War and who married Nancy Ann Clark (1762-1855).
