FLEMINGTON - Alice K. Hockenbury died Jan. 5, 1995, in Lehigh Valley Hospital Center in Allentown, Pa. She was 87.

Born in Bloomsbury, she was a daughter of Howard and Mary Edith Sharrer Kinney. She lived in Flemington for 56 years.

She was formerly a waitress at the Union Hotel, retiring 23 years ago.

She was a volunteer at the Hunterdon Exchange in Flemington.

Mrs. Hockenbury was a member and deacon of the Flemington Presbyterian Church.

Her first husband, Norman Hand , died in 1968.
Surviving are her husband, Charles Hockenbury; two sons, Norman Hand and Clarence Hand , both of Flemington; a daughter, Elaine Hand of Flemington; a sister, Dora Holland of Branchville; a stepdaughter, Leda Stevens of Readington Township; a stepson, Melvin Hockenbury of Vienna, Va.; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Jan. 8 in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home. Burial was in Bloomsbury Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Hunterdon County Heart Association, 207 West End Avenue, Bridgewater 08807 or to the Hunterdon County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, 84 Park Avenue, Flemington 08822.
