Randy James Berhalter, 69, of Kendallville died Saturday, January 31, 2015, in his residence.

He was a lifetime area resident.

Mr. Berhalter honorably served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1968.

He worked in Quality Control at Newnam Foundry and retired from Dalton Foundry in Kendallville.

He was a member of Rome City American Legion Post 381 and the men’s auxiliary of Kendallville VFW Post 2749. He served as past commander of Kendallville American Legion Post 86.

Randy was an avid golfer and an I.U. basketball fan. He enjoyed reading.

He was born January 3, 1946, in Garrett to Joseph G. and Maxine N. (Hathaway) Berhalter. His parents preceded him in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Hindi (Rick) Clark of Kendallville and Dawn (Bob) Blum of Rome City; four grandchildren, Alyn Clark, Alyx Clark, Cort Newport, and Kara Hawver; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Charlie Berhalter of Sylvan Lake; and a special nephew, Erik Reidenbach of Fishers.

Honor guard services will be provided by Rome City American Legion Post 381, Kendallville VFW Post 2749, Kendallville American Legion Post 86, and active duty members of the U.S. military.

Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.
