COLBURN - David Eugene Cornell, 46, died Saturday, June 27, 1998, at Americus. Born April 7, 1952, in Lafayette, he attended East Tipp High School. He married Anna Marie Killian on Feb. 14, 1971, in Lafayette; she survives. Mr. Cornell, who had been employed at Jefferson Smurfitt since 1973, was working as a day loader. He was a member of Colburn United Methodist Church, and had served in the National Guard.
Surviving with his wife are three sons, Dennis Eugene Cornell of Pyrmont, David Eugene Cornell II, and Wesley Phillip Cornell, both of West Lafayette; one daughter, Katrina Kristine Cornell Carmicle of Americus; his mother, Rosemary Johnson of Lafayette; five brothers, Robert Cornell, Jeff Cornell, both of Lafayette, Gary Cornell of Indianapolis, Ron Cornell, and Mark Cornell, both of Darlington; and six grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Cornell; his stepfather, L.W. Johnson; and a daughter, Malisa Marie Cornell.
