Your petitioner respectfully desires to represent that he is a native of Corsica France and now forty-two (42) years of age that he emigrated to this country in 1846, and was naturalized at Richmond, Va. in 1850 and has never by any voluntary act forfeited his rights of citizenship, but never has held office under the so called Confederate Government nor borne arms against the Government of the United States nor in any manner participated in the late rebellion, but remained quietly at home and pursued his calling as a confectioner.
