unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at her home. She was born on
September 29, 1948 in Mount Vernon, Ohio, the daughter of Doyle Lindy and
Leota (Conkle) Baker.
Connie will be missed by her loving husband of nearly 44 years, Carl I. Biggs, a
daughter, granddaughter,daughter-in-law, a brother, sisters-in-law, many nieces
and nephews and close relatives.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her son, J. Eric Biggs, two
brothers-in-law, Dale Biggs and John Biggs.
Connie was editor-in-chief of the yearbook at Howard/East Knox High School, she
was active in student council, junior classical league, cheerleading, and her
senior year was voted onto the homecoming court. After high school, she attended
business school in Mount Vernon which prepared her for an extensive career at
Cooper Industries that lasted 33 years where she served as Executive Assistant
to the President at Cooper Industries. Connie most recently worked at Ariel
Corporation as the Executive Assistant to the President and Chief Executive
Officer for 13 years before retiring.
Connies proudest moments were of her children. She attended all of their
sporting events and could not contain her pride when her daughter earned a
Masters degree in Exercise Physiology and her son earned a MBA in Executive
Management.
Connie loved luncheons and outings with her cousins, the fabulous five. She
also enjoyed meeting her Cooper gals for lunch.
Connie loved to play with her grand dog Whiskey. She also loved the sunshine, to
read, spend time at the lake and be in the sun and water. At Christmas time she
enjoyed decorating the house and she always looked forward to her trips to
Florida with her family.
Connie and Carl were amazing dancers and gathered the attention of dance floor
at a moments notice, but she was happiest sitting on the dock at Apple Valley
with a drink in her hand, the sun on her face, surrounded by her family.
She was fun, vivacious, feisty, and endearing. Her beautiful handwriting and
amazing organizational abilities will be missed.
