Christine Dobson McAlister, 95, formerly of Central, widow of Claud Ashley McAlister died Monday, January 26, 2015 in Lake Jackson, TX.
She was born in Central a daughter of the late Homer DWitt and Rosa Elsie DeFoor Dobson. Christine was longtime resident of Central, worked for many years as an Avon Representative. She and her husband Claud grew wonderful vegetables and flowers and shared them with the community. She was a very active member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where she was member of the Eloise Gaines Circle. She was a member of the James L. Orr Chapter of the UDC.
Surviving are her daughter, Rosalee Marshall (John) of Lake Jackson, TX; brothers, Leland Dobson of Central and Olin Eugene Dobson of Summerville, SC; sisters, Ethel Martin of Greenville, SC and Barbara McAlister of Clemson; grandchildren, Beverly Christine Fernandez, Catherine Anne Marshall, Junstin and Avery Lobusch, Marc, Gabriella and Michael Fernandez.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Kenneth Dobson, Henry Dobson and H.D. "Bud" Dobson; and a sister, Florence Craig.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Saturday at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Central with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:50 PM, Saturday prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 186, Central, SC 29630.
