Albert Dittberner was born in Leaf Valley Township on December 27, 1876, the son of Wm. and Amelia Dittberner. He was baptized and confirmed at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church. In 1903 he was united in marriage to Minna Brueske. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Dittberner farmed in Leaf Valley Township. Mrs. Dittberner passed away in 1922. Albert continued to live in Leaf Valley until 1959 when he came to Alexandria where he has made his residence for the past eleven years.
He passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 1970, at the Douglas County Hospital at the age of 93 years. He is survived by one son, Wallace of Garfield, Minnesota, five grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Emma Trantow of Alexandria. He was preceded in death by his wife and one son, Arthur.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 6, 1970 at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Leaf Valley Township, Rev. Bruce Brinkman officiating. Interment was at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Erwin Dittberner, Elroy Dittberner, Wm. Dittberner, Otto Schultz, Oscar Froemming and Walter Hausman.
