EATONTON - Charlie George Lankford, 65, of 483 Lower Harmony Road died Monday in an Augusta hospital after an extended illness.

He was a native of Putnam County and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Gay Lankford of Eatonton; a daughter, Betty Ann Lankford of Eatonton; two brothers, Eugene Craig of North Carolina and Gus Lankford of Eatonton; seven sisters, Audry Chanclor of Stockbridge, Blanche Speed of Columbus, Jewell Martin of Lilburn, Parma Holloway of Norfolk, Va., Elsie Ellington of Conyers and Love Presley and Daisy Winslette, both of Eatonton; and stepmother, Hettie Lankford of Columbus.
