Mrs. Eilyne Pierce Wigginton, age 83, died Friday, November 5, 2004, at the N.C. Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks after a period of declining health. Born November 27, 1920, in Franklinton, La., she was the daughter of the late Wiley Pierce and Ida (Welch) Pierce.

Mrs. Wigginton was educated in Franklinton schools and also attended business school there. She was a legal secretary for Shuford and Caddell Law Office for more than 30 years before retiring. Mrs. Wigginton belonged to First United Methodist Church of Salisbury. Her husband, Dr. Marvin D. Wigginton, preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 1997.

Survivors include daughters: Mary (Bill) Leonard of Salisbury, and Judy W.(J, Richard) Bowen of Wilmington, Del.; a sister, Maxine Bennett of Franklinton, La.; a brother-in-law, J.W. Bell of Franklinton, La.; four grandchildren, Natalie Hill of Athens, Ga., Tom Bowen of Danville, Pa., Chris Bowen of Wilmington, Del., and Nate Leonard or Broadway, N.C.; and four great-grandchildren, Christine, Michael, Anna and Sara.

Service s will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Summersett Memorial Chapel with Dr. Thomas L. Griffis, senior minister of First United Methodist Church, conducting. Entombment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from 4-5:30 p.m. today at Summersett Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Mary Leonard, 320 Idlewood Drive.
