Mrs. Daisy E. hodson, of 22 Highland Dr., Napa, CA, died 08Sep, about 6:30 p.m. in Letterman General Hospital, San Francisco, after an extended illness. Mrs. Hodson entered the hospital 03Aug.
Mrs. Hodson's death follows that of her husband, Nathan A. Hodson, on 14Apr1960. Mr. Hodson also died in Letterman General Hospital.
Mrs. Hodson was 1 of 3 children. She was born & spent her early life on a farm in Mulberry Grove & Hagarstown, IL.
At a very early age Mrs. Hodson received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior & remained faithful to Him until death. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Hagarstown.
As a young woman, Mrs. Hodson was a school teacher. While still teaching school Mrs. Hodson met Nathan Hodson, whose bride she was for 56 years, 7 1/2 months.
In 1909 Mr. & Mrs. Hodson went to WY to live. The next 18 1/2 years were spent in this pioneer country where the Hodsons did a real missionary work.
From 1926-1957 the Hodsons again farmed in the Vandalia area. In 1957 they moved to CA to live & made their home in Napa.
Mrs. Hodson is survived by 4 children: Mrs. Ethel David, of Daniel, WY; Joe Hodson of Petalumas, CA; Mrs. Madge Bruer & Mrs. Esther Bunch of San Francisco; 2 sisters, Miss Lydia Call of 22 Highland Dr., Napa, CA & Mrs. Josephine Dearth of Eden, WY; 8 grandchildren & 17 great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives & friends.
Mrs. Hodson's 4 children were all with her the last week of her life, the first time in 32 years.
Funeral services at the Richard Pierce Mortuary, in Napa on Tuesday, 13Sep at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Curtis R. Nives, pastor of First Baptist Church, San Francisco, officiant. Burial in Talacay Cemetery.
