Newville, May 30 - Stephen H. Spidle, 51, died Thursday evening at Carlisle Hospital after an illness of six months. He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Lester Groff, Mt. Joy and Mrs. Alice Detweiler, Carlisle, R.D. 8; his mother, Mrs. Ellen Spidle, Leesburg; three brothers, Harry, Leesburg; Frank, Mt. Holly Springs and William Spidle, Big Springs; four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Coover, Mt. Joy; Mrs. Alice Black and Mrs. Rebecca Eichelberger, Shippensburg and Mrs. Annie Lindsey of Jacksonville.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the J. R. Shulenberger Funeral Home, West High Street. Burial will be in the Plainfield Church of God Cemetery. The body may be viewed his evening at the funeral parlors.
