Alice M. Detwiler, 89, of 10 Adams Road, Carlisle, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001 at home.
Born March 21, 1912 in Bloserville, she was a daughter of the late Stephen H. Spidle and Kathryn Warner Spidle Myers and the widow of Andrew J. Detwiler, who died June 17, 1983.
Retired from Knouse Foods Inc. in Adams County, she had also worked for Kinney Shoe Co. in Carlisle and the Mt. Holly Springs Dress Factory. She was of the Protestant faith.
Mrs. Detwiler is survived by a daughter, Dorothy E. Brunner of Carlisle; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Groff.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Jan E. Custer officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, North Middleton Township.
Friends may call Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
