James "Bill" Adamson, born in Portland, Oregon, August 21, 1918, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 1998.

A native of Utah, he spent his last 15 years in Palm Desert, California. Bill graduated from North Emery High School in Huntington, Utah. He married Jean Nielson in August, 1940. While pursuing his career as a Market Research Analyst at A.C. Nielsen Co., he and Jean raised three children, until her death in October, 1970. In January, 1972, Bill married Bernice Hreinson Johnson, Uniting the Adamson and Johnson families.Bill always loved golf and during his retirement years was an active member of the Palm Desert Greens Men's Golf Club, serving as the Club president.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice Adamson; children: Candace (Dallas) Gittins; Rex (Alaris) Johnson; Kathleen (Mike) Banks; James Bill (Cindy) Adamson, Jr.; Jackie (Dennis) Webster; Kent (Sue) Johnson and Colleen (Craig) Martindale; mother, Norma Adamson; sisters, Gwen Nielson and Hanna Keele; brother, Jordy Adamson; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, May 24, 1998 at Lake Hills Cemetery, 10055 South State Street, Salt Lake City, Utah.
