ho most stirring and pleasant incident of the new year occurred last evening, at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Abram Eckler. Invited guests to the number of one hundred and twenty, assembled to celebrate their twentieth anniversary or china wedding. A pleasanter time or a more greeable company I never saw, and the anniversary was celebrated in good earnest from early candle light until the small hours of the morning. The company danced until twelve o'clock, though the long dining room was cleared and the tables spread with all the delicacies and substantial of the season. The tables were literally burdened with their load; oysters, meats, pastry, nuts, candies, fruits, and other edibles to numerous to mention. Mr. and Mrs. Eckler were presented with a beautiful set of china fruit baskets, vases, etc. They were everywhere present, with their pleasant and social manner, and certainly made it an agreeable entertainment. May they be spared to celebrate their golden wedding is the sincere wish of all. Mrs. J. Woolston, Mr. S. Whitcomb and others, enlivened the entertainment with some of the choicest selections on the piano and violin.
