Mrs. John Allspaugh, of 309 North Sumner avenue, died yesterday morning at 8 o’clock at the family home. Mrs. Allspaugh had been in ill health but she was apparently on the road to recovery until last Saturday when she suffered a relapse. Surviving are her husband, John Allspaugh, one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Gridline, of Philadelphia, and two brothers, William and Noah Davies, of Scranton. The funeral of Mrs. John Allspaugh of 309 North Sumner avenue, was held yesterday at 2:30 o’clock. Rev. John A. Bender, pastor of St. Mark’s Lutheran church officiated. Interment was in the Washburn Street cemetery. The pallbearers were: John Steingerwalt, Samuel Rogers, Charles Softley, Al Freed and Richard Lewis. (The Tribune, Scranton, PA, July 1, 1926)
