Sarah (Sally) Baker Ashcraft Cates of Sheridan, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1993 at her home at the age of 80.
She was born Oct. 26, 1912 in Prattsville the daughter of William Edward Baker and Mary Brantley Baker.
Mrs. Cates was retired Supervisor of Leola School Lunchroom, a Baptist, a member of AARP, and was preceded in death by an infant daughter Mozella Ashcraft and her husband Ulmer Cates who died December 12, 1992.
Survivors include three sons and daughter-in-laws, Richard and Mary Ashcraft of Louisville, Ken., Garry Roger and Rene' Ashcraft of Pascagoula, Miss., and Bobby and Carolyn Ashcraft of Sheridan; five daughters and son-in-laws, Judy and Ronald Henderson of Sheridan, Bonnie and Ray Crutchfield of Klamath Falls, Ore., Jimmie and O. G. Burnett, Sue and John Burnett and May Moore all of Little Rock; one sister, Mrs. Jewell Dortch of Frost, Texas; 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Friday, Sept. 3, at 2 p.m., at Buie Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville.
