Ruth H. Mueller, 92, of Monroeville, Indiana passed away early Friday morning, July 9, 2021, at Adams Heritage.
She was born on November 2, 1928 in McIntosh, Minnesota to William J. and H. Cecilia (Diercks) Polley. She was united in marriage to Rev. Herbert Mueller on August 10, 1952 in McIntosh, Minnesota and he preceded her in death on March 2, 1996.
Ruth was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest. She was a former member of Lutheran churches in Bay City, Michigan, Upham and Lidgerwood, North Dakota and Claremont, Minnesota.
She graduated from McIntosh High in 1946 and completed training to become a school teacher.
Ruth enjoyed knitting, painting and gardening.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruth (Jeff) Schroeder of Hoagland, Indiana and Dev (Jim) Schleben DeWitt, Michigan; four sons, Jonathan Mueller of Bay City, Michigan, Dr. Robert (Dr. Tess) Mueller of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Rev. Timothy (Dawn) Mueller of New Minden, Illinois, and Rev. William (Julie) Mueller of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brother, Gerald Polley of Worthington, Minnesota; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by a son, Rev. Dr. Herbert Mueller Jr. on March 21, 2020; five brothers, Rev. LaVerne Polley, Merrill Polley, Howard Polley, Lyle Polley, and Rev. Victor Polley; and two sisters, Marlene Habekank and one in infancy.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest located at 9909 Wayne Trace in Fort Wayne with Pastor Josef Henning officiating. Burial will follow at Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Soest.
Family and friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Preferred memorials are to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest, The Lutheran Hour or Worship Anew.
