He was the son of the late George F. and Suda Hart Harr. He was alsp preceded in death by four sisters, Eva Turbyfill, Donnie Feathers, Grace Harr and Vesta Woods, and three brothers, Joe, Roy and Willie Harr.

Mr. Harr was a member of Fairview Baptist Church for over 60 years where he served as a deacon, trustee, usher and on the building and grounds and baptismal committees.

He held the rank of PFC with the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with Gen. Patton's 3rd Army, 94th Infantry, European Theatre in Germany and near the Ryne River. He received two purple hearts and the good conduct medal and was a BAR gunner and Expert Rifleman.

He was a retired employee of Veterans Administration Mountain Home as a painter in the maintenance department. He was also a former employee of the Carter County Memorial Hospital as an assistant engineer.

Funeral service were conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2004 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home.

The graveside service and burial were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 26, 2004 in Happy Valley Memorial Park.
