Mrs. Cyrus (Clarissa) Cooper, an aged lady, after an illness of about one week, died Tuesday about 9 o'clock p.m. The funeral was held at the Disciple Church Thursday at 10 a.m. and was attended by a large concourse. Interment took place in the Disciple Cemetery near the church. Mrs. Cooper was highly esteemed by all and leaves a husband and six children, three sons and three daughters, all full grown and well to do, besides a large circle of friends to mourn her death. Mr. Cooper and children have the sincere sympathy of this community in their sad affliction. -- The Democratic Standard, February 24, 1899
