John Arthur Long,1007 Fitzhugh, died at St. Joseph's Hospital, at 9:46 p.m. Sunday.
Services at 11 a.m. Wed., June 26 with Rev. J.W. Sims, Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home in charge.
Born in Powderly, son of John L. & Rosie L. Corn Long, he attended Paris & Chicota schools & married Allene Bowden.
He worked for Austin Bridge Co. until 1977. He later owned a truck & worked for Buster Construction Co. transporting building supplies. Was a former member of the Paris Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are a wife; a daughter, Linda Dossey of Paris, 1 son, Billy G. Long of Paris; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Nancy Wear of Paris & Minnie Lee Gaines of Bellville, AR.; 2 brothers, Charles H. Long & J. W. 'Bill' Long both of Paris; & daughter in law, Rita Murphy of Midway & a son in law, Sam Fernadez of Houston.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Manor, Houston and Thomas Long.
Bearers were James Stevens, Bill Barber, Jimmy Latimer, Jackie Good, Bill Lane, & Marshall Good.
