The home of his grandfather Jacob Purdy served as George Washington's headquarters during the Battle of White Plains and is still standing.

His great-grandparents Louis (Lewis) Angevine and Esther Sicard leased the Angevine Farm in Scarsdale Manor, held by the family as tenants of the Heathcoats and DeLanceys for over 100 years and later known as the home of James Fenimore Cooper.

Peter Angevine was a grocer in New York City. Some give his death date as 1834.

He married Catherine Clinton Beekman Angevine, a sister of Angevine Beekman and later the wife of Horace Bartlett who is buried with her at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Tarrytown.
