She was born July 7, 1900, to Carl James and Almira Nelson, in Weston, Idaho. After graduation from high school in Preston, Idaho, she obtained a teaching certificate from Albion Normal School, Albion, Idaho and taught school for a brief period. Married John Neff Boothe in 1920, later divorced. Married Dr. Emory L. Soule in 1934 in Bozeman, Montana, later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.After settling in St. Anthony, Idaho where her husband began his medical practice, she assisted him in his office for several years. She was active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers for several years and served as President of that group. She was also active in the St. Anthony Women's Club and the State Women's Club, holding office for several years. She was President of the St. Anthony Music Club and was especially active in the Auxiliary of the Upper Snake River Valley Medical Association and also the State Association, serving as President of the Upper Snake River Valley Association, three times.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beverley and Wendell Birch, Salt Lake City, Utah, son-in-law, George Browning, Idaho Falls, ID, sister, June Evens, Salt Lake City; brother, Herman Nelson of Boise, ID; six grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Emory L. Soule, a daughter, Margene Browning, three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 22, 1996 at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, where friends may call from 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
