Dr. Emory L. Soule passed away March 30, 1995 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Salt Lake City of causes incident to age.

He was born September 2, 1904 to Henry and Alice Steed Soule in Salt Lake City, Utah. Graduated from high school in St. Anthony, Idaho and from the University of Utah. He taught school for the next three years before returning to the University of Utah Medical School. Graduated from Medical School at Washington University, St. Louis Missouri in 1935, and interned at St. Luke's Hospital in Denver, Colorado. In 1934 he married Edith Nelson, later solemnized in Idaho Falls LDS Temple. In 1937 they settled in St. Anthony, Idaho where he pracrticed medicine until the time of his retirement.He helped organize the American Academy at Family Physicians in Atlantic City, was a charter member of the Idaho Chapter of The Academy of Family Physicians and served as a delegate to national conventions for over ten years.

He was president of the Southeast Idaho Medical Association three terms. In 1980 he was named Family Physician of the Year by the Idaho Academy of Family Physicians. Served as President of the St. Anthony Rotary Club.

He was the official physician for the State Industrial School for many years and was the surgeon for the Union Pacific Railroad Co., in Southeastern Idaho from 1943 until his retirement

He is survived by his wife, Edith, a daughter and son-in-law, Beverley and Wendell Birch, Salt Lake City, son-in-law, George Browning of Idaho Falls, Idaho; brother, Parke Soule, Sun City, Ariz.; six grandhildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Margene Browning, and sister, Vivian Muir.

Funeral services will be held in the St. Anthony 2nd Ward on Monday, April 3, 1995 at 11 a.m. where friends may visit from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Memorial Services will be held at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive on Wednesday, April 5, 1995 at 10 a.m. where friends may call 9:15-9:45 a.m. prior to services. Internment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Directors, Wasatch Lawn Mortuary.
