Lester Sumner, age 90 of London, passed away on Friday, January 9 at his residence. He was the husband of Dora Bryant Sumner; father of Christine Bryant and husband Dean of Fairfield, OH, Erma Swafford and husband Fred of London, KY, David Sumner and wife Libby of London, KY, Joann Anderson and husband Terry of Lumberton, NC, Scottie Sumner and wife Patty of Winchester, KY, Danny Ray Sumner and wife Becky of Manchester, KY, and Dianna Cameron and husband John of Tallahassee, FL. He also leaves behind nineteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess & Creasie Sumner; three sons, Jerry Wendell, James Richard and Roger Lee Sumner; three sisters and eight brothers. Funeral services for Lester Sumner will be conducted on Wednesday, January 14 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Harlan Avera and Jamie Maxey officiating. Entombment will follow at A.R. Dyche Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, also at the funeral home.
