Benjamin Weller was born March 18, 1797, in Thurmont, Frederick County, Maryland, the son of Jacob and Susanna Weller. He was also the grandson of Philip and Juliana Wotring Weller. His mother may have been a Miller or Zimmerman, but it is not certain at this point. Benjamin moved to Augusta County, Virginia, with his family and was married there on August 15, 1820, to Catherine Bish/Bush. They were the parents of at least 9 children: Tobias, Lemuel, Margaret Jane, John William, Anna E., Benjamin, Addison, Jeanette Catherine and W. Franklin Weller. Benjamin passed away March 13, 1877, near Mt. Sidney, Augusta County, and was buried in Mt. Sidney Cemetery there.
