Virginia was born in Hopkins county Texas to Hugh M. Henderson of Illinois and Agness Nancy Lockard of Ross County, Ohio and was one of 12 children. She was the granddaughter of Hugh Henderson and Margaret Ashmore, and granddaughter of Joseph Lockard and Magdalena Doll.
Two of her brothers were Hugh Henderson and Hezekiah Othnell Henderson.
The family can be found in Hopkins county in 1860. Father's occupation was wagoner and older brother was a teamster.
By 1870, Hugh had died and Agness Nancy (Nancy) had married William Hart and had Henderson children with them.
Virginia married John Thomas Miller on Jan 14, 1878 in Franklin County, TX

They can be found in the 1880 census for Precinct 2, Hopkins County with his parents and siblings nearby.
Sometime before 1890, the family moved to Greenville, Hunt County, Texas, where Samuel Arthur is born.
By 1904, daughter Lula is marrying Lige Harris at the family home in Taylor county.
In 1910, John Thomas and Virginia are found in Precinct 1 of Howard County, Texas.
They were in Claude, Armstrong county for John Thomas' death in February 1926.
Virginia can be found with children back down in Merkel, Taylor county, Texas in 1930.
