Mrs. Charles Mears Dies
At Home in Carlisle
At 12:30 A. M.
Mrs. Emma Gertrude Mears, 63, wife of Charles E. Mears, died at her home in Carlisle at 12:30 o’clock Thursday morning after an illness of several weeks duration.
Mrs. Mears was born at Brown’s Run but had resided in this community for a number of years. She was a member of the New Jersey Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are the widower, three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Van Derveer, postmistress of Carlisle, Mrs. Maud Pursley, Mrs. Caroline Updyke, and three sons, Roy of Germantown, Raymond and Carl, one brother, Daniel Gebhart of Germantown.
Funeral services will be held from the Van Deveer home in Carlisle Saturday afternoon at two o’clock, with burial in Woodhill Cemetery at Franklin. Rev. James Mentzer will officiate. The Unglesby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
