George W. Rummel, son of George and Cynthia Burch Rummel, was born in Steuben County, August 8, 1862, and died in the Veterans Hospital in Fort Wayne, November 12, 1956, age 94 years, three months and four days.

He was married to Emma Schasler, and to them were born six children. A son, Boyd, and an infant daughter preceded him in death.

Mr. Rummel was a retired schoolteacher, nurseryman, and interior decorator. He was a veteran of World War I.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Della Elliott, St. Joe, Mo., Mrs. Mabel Collins, Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Florence Sutton, Troy, Ka; a son, Harvey, Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, William, of Ray; 14 grandchildren and a number of nephews and nieces.

Graveside rites were held on Tuesday morning November 13, at South Scott Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Givers, chaplain of the Veterans Hospital, Fort Wayne, officiated. The funeral was in charge of McComb and Sons Funeral Home of Fort Wayne.
