The Daily Reporter Tue Nov 5 1985; Area Deaths; ELMER I. CAIN: Elmer I. Cain, 91, Shirley, Longtime Hancock County Resident, died this morning at Hancock Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 22, 1893 in Owen County, he was the son of the late Oliver and Louise(Taylor)Cain. A retired farmer and livestock dealer, Mr. Cain was a member of Shirley United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife Lucille (Cook) Cain; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Wilfong, Greenfield; three sons, George McCorkle, Greenfield, William "Bill" and Thomas "Tom" Cain, Wilkinson; 15 grandchildren; two step-daughters, Mrs. June Richey, and Mrs. Robert (Charlotte) Howe, both of Shirley; five step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Amanda Catherine McCorkle, in 1953; two sons, Kenneth Cain, 1984, and Max McCorkle in 1985; and a grandson in 1960. Services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday at Condo and Son Funeral Home, Wilkinson, with the Rev. Woodrow Shields, Noblesville, and the Rev. Lang Brownlee, Shirley , Officiating. Burial will follow in McCray Cemetery, Wilkinson. Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
