Effie Mae Monks, 95 of McLoud, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2006. She was born December 18, 1910 to Thomas and Dinkie Burden in Palestine, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hardy Monks, her parents, four brothers, three sisters, two sons, James and Dewayne, four infant daughters, a grandson, Kevin Martin, and a great grandson, Billy Bo Martin. Effie is survived by four sons, Herbert Monks, Clem Monks, Everett Monks, and Donald Monks; four daughters, Wanda Martin, Pauline Brazeal, Ramona Hunter-Price, and Joyce Ates; 32 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Friday, April 28, 2006 at Barnes and Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with a 4:00 pm graveside to follow at Palistine Cemetery in Quinton, OK.
