"Newsom Rites Are Conducted

Funeral for Doc. S. Newsom, 75, a retired farmer who died Monday, was at 2 p.m., Tuesday from Harvey Chapel, with burial in Pruitt Cemetery.

The Rev. J.T. Atchley of the Pentecostal Holiness Church, officiated. Serving as pallbearers were P.B. Dowd, Junior Dowd, Cecil Goodin, Grover Willingham, Cecil Higginbotham, jSullivan Lavers and Johnnie Dudley.

Newsom, a native of Parker Count, Texas, was born Jan. 13, 1880.

He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Mary Riley, Ardmore; Mrs. Ollie (blurred print), Ringling; Mrs. Dolly Bowman, Merced, Calif.; Mrs. Maggie Authorholt, Earlemart, Calif., and one brother, Steve, Denison, Texas."
