G. E. "Gene" Beasley, 88 of Newbern, Tennessee died on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Tennessee Veterans Home in Humboldt, Tennessee.

Born Saturday, January 23, 1926, he was the son of the late E. F. Beasley and the late Myrtle Jacobs Beasley.

Mr. Beasley was a farmer, member of Emmanus Baptist Church and was a Veteran of the United States Armed Forces.

Funeral services for Mr. Beasley will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 3, 2014 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with Mr. Chuck Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Visitation for Mr. Beasley will be Friday from 5:00 PM-8:00 at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He is survived by one son, Larry E. Beasley of Winter Springs, Florida; one brother, James Beasley of Chicago, Illinois, two grandchildren, Mark Anthony "Tony" Beasley of Humboldt, Tennessee and Saundra Woodley of Orlando, Florida; four great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathalene Price Beasley, a grandchild and three sisters, Ruth Simmons, Ollie B. Harper and Mary D. Sims.

Pallbearers will be Mark Anthony "Tony" Beasley, Keith McDonald, Keith Sims, Alan Sims, Jake Woodley, Jarrett Woodley and Shane Nichols.

The family ask that memorials be directed to Emmanus Baptist Church, 4480 Lanesferry Road, Newbern, Tennessee.
