Saturday July 23, 1983, in Mercy Hospital. He had previously been in the hospital 89 days and was recuperating at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Darreil (Irene.) Mahous, for three weeks when he suffered a stroke. Born in Malone April 3, 1898, he was the son of Mitchell and Laura Decoste Lavoie. He was educated in Malone schools. On Oct. 1927 he was married to Lula Lapage. She predeceased him April 16,1976. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mathous, with whom he resided, and Mrs. Norma Cook of Pennsylvania, three brothers, Francis, Albert and Edmund; three sisters, Mrs. Sherbon (Bernadette) Davignon, Mrs. Harry (Cecile) Hopkinson and Mrs Robert (Jean) Jock. He was predeceased by a son, Kenneth, in 1969, and two brothers and a sister. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Watertown
