CARROLLTON-Services for James Earnest Ricks will be held Saturday January 3, 2015 2:00 PM at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.
Mr. Ricks, age 75 died on Wednesday December 31, 2014 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital of heart failure
He was born on November 02, 1939 in Carroll County to the late James Thomas and Mildred Reeves Ricks and lived in Carroll county all of his life. He was a retired maintenance welder for J.J. Ferguson and was an U.S. Army and U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the North Carrollton Baptist Church and he was preceded in death by a son, David Shaw.
He is survived by wife of 53 years, Ellen "Doll" Abbey Ricks of Carrollton, son, Jimmy "Bo" (Susan) Ricks of Carrollton, daughter, Janna (Mark) Stiles, Sr of Carrollton, brother, Gerald "Jerry" Ricks of Carrollton, ten grandchildren, Jay (Shelley) Ricks, Brett (Jenna) Pugh, Megan Shaw Olvera, Ryan (Brittany) Ricks, Mark Stiles II, Heath (Lyndsey) Pugh, Katy Ricks and her fiancé’ Chris Powderly, Mitchell Stiles, Taylor Brower and Lindsey Ricks, four great grandchildren, Eric Olvera, Jasmine Olvera, Kaylee Olvera and Grayson Jones Ricks and multiple nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday January 3, 2015 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. Rev. Tommy Clark and Rev Joseph Sansing will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Jay Ricks, Brett Pugh, Mark Stiles II, Ryan Ricks, Heath Pugh, and Mitchell Stiles. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Monroe Rogers, Scott Montgomery and Patrick Montgomery. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery.
