Alice Sutton married Jesse Peter Carwile on 4 March 1885. She was the daughter of William M. Sutton and Elizabeth West.

OBITUARY:
Mrs Alice Carwile Dies at age of 95

Funeral services were held at the Chapel of Olmstead Funeral Home at 2:30 PM Monday, February 19, for Mrs Alice Sutton Carwile, one of the county's oldest citizens, who died at a Heber Springs hospital Saturday (Feb 17, 1962). An invalid for the past two years, she made her home with a daughter, Mrs. John Elm at Drasco.

Mrs. Carwile was a widow of Jess Peter Carwile who died in 1941. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Sutton, she was born in the State of Kansas, June 14, 1866. She been a resident of this county since 1900.

Besides Mrs. Elms other survivors ar two sons; Oscar E. Carwile of East St. Louis and Ernest R. Carwile of Philadelphia, Mississippi, A brother Will Sutton of Denver, Colorado, a sister Mrs Lillie Sullivan of Baldwin, Kansas; a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many, many friend who recognized in her daily living the virtues of a fin christian mother, loyal friend and kind considerate neighbor.

Rev. Will Shand officiated at the funeral rites and interment was in the Chastain Cemetery.
