George's parents were John Nicholas Doney, Jr., and Elizabeth A. Lintz.

George married Barbara (LaBorde) Jordan in 1851. Barbara was born 1 January 1819 in Lower Mahanoy Township, Northumberland County, (now Perry Township, Union County) Pennsylvania, and died between 1880-1896. She's probably buried in Rockton Cemetery. George and Barbara had two sons:
(1)John Doney b.&d. 1853 PA
(2)Josiah Doney b. 1855 PA; d. abt 1865 PA

Barbara's first husband was David Jordan who was born 10 June 1816 in Pennsylvania, died 7 January 1846 in Clearfield County, PA, and buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Clearfield County, PA. Barbara and David had one child:
(1)Reuben Haines Jordan b. Jun 1843 Clearfield Co, PA; d. 1928 PA; m. Elizabeth Welty 1877; both bur. Rockton Cemetery

Excerpt from Commemorative Biographical Record of Central Pennsylvania including the counties of Centre, Clearfield, Jefferson and Clarion, Vol. 1, J.H. Beers & Co, Chicago, 1896, pp. 1039, R.H. Jordan bio:
"David and Barbara (Laborde) Jordan, parents of our subject [Reuben Haines Jordan], made their home in Curwensville, where the father worked at the miller’s trade until his death. In 1851 his widow married George Doney, who came from Juniata county, Penn., to Clearfield county, in 1844, and took up his residence upon the farm in Union township, where our subject [Reuben Haines Jordan] now resides. Two children were born of the second union, namely: John, who died in infancy; and Josiah, who died at the age of ten years. The mother has also passed away, but Mr. Doney is still living at the ripe old age of seventy-seven years, honored and respected by all who know him.
"Upon the Doney farm in Union township, Mr. Jordan was reared to manhood, and obtained his education in the schools of the neighborhood… "

George died 5 Jul 1897 in Union Twp at age 76 years, 7 months, 10 days, and is buried in the Rockton Cemetery. He died of heart failure and suffered 11 days before passing.

From the Mennonite Herald of Truth, Vol. XXXIV, No. 15, 1 Aug 1897, pages 238,239:
"DONEY—On the 5th day of July 1897, near Rockton, Clearfield Co., Pa., of heart failure, George Doney (died), aged 76 years, 7 months, 13 days. He was a member of the Mennonite church upward of 20 years, during which time he lived a commendable life. Funeral discourse by the writer to a large congregation from Job 21:23-26. John A. Brilhart"
