Patricia Mae Mercer, 75, a resident of Dothan passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday December 30, 2014 at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Pastor Garner Wood officiating and Robert Byrd directing. The family receive friends from 12:45 pm to 1:45 pm Tuesday at the Sunset Funeral Home. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to Old Webb Road Baptist Church, c/o Amy Odom, P.O. Box 118, Webb, AL, 36376.
Mrs. Mercer was born July 20, 1939 in Dothan to the late James Ezell and Ouida McNeal Allen. She resided in Dothan most of her life where she was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting and reading, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Mercer was a member of Old Webb Road Baptist Church and dearly loved her Pastor and Church family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Jimmy Wayne Allen.
Survivors include her husband Burl Mercer of Dothan; her daughter Teresa Arlene Lokey of Dothan; her son Norman Hunter of Dothan; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Wade) Rainer of Dothan, Wesley (Robyn) Rowell of Dothan, and Joshua (Kelly) Rowell of Appleton, WI; great-grandchildren, Bethany Rainer and Jake Rainer; a step-daughter Margaret (Rodney) Hendrix of Hartford, AL; a step-granddaughter Jenny (AL) Gilmore; her sisters, Judith (Tillman) Price of Blakely, GA and Jean Woodruff of Dothan; several nieces and nephews; her special friends Martha Jean Powell and Geraldine Scribner of Dothan.
