Mrs, Bean Dies, Was Well-Known Singer In Area
Mrs. Carlotta Bean, a resident of 1807 N. Knoxville Ave. for 18 years, died at
5:30 a.m. Saturday at Proctor Hospital where she had been a patient since
June 21. She had been in failing health since last November.
She was the widow of Dixon Bean, who died here in September (sic) 1950. They were
married at Chicago. A resident of the Peoria area all her life, she was born in
Peoria, a daughter of Henry G. and Mary M. Moorhouse Hirt, an early Peoria
family. Mrs. Bean was a member of the Union Congregational Church and in
earlier years was well known as a singer.
Surviving are one brother, Clifford Hirt of Dixon, and one nephew.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at eh Cumerford-Endsley Memorial
Home. The Rev William Foster of Union Congressional Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Springvale Cemetery.
Friends may call at the memorial home from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
