C.W. Downey, Jr., 91,passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014 in Graham. Funeral will be held, Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Eastside Church of Christ with Dorman Holub, minister officiating. Burial will follow in Jean Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

C. W. graduated from Graham High School and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WW II. He married Margarite Sostrich, June 29, 1946 in Lawton, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on October 2, 2004. Their son, Terry L. Downey, preceded him in death on August 24, 2014. C.W. worked in the oilfield as a drilling superintendant and operations manager for Fred Boaz, Shenandoah/ Southland Royalty and Fuller Petroleum. He was a member of Eastside Church of Christ.

Survivors include; daughter, Joan Snell and husband Dave of Graham; sister, Robbie Jean Segars of Hobbs, NM.; daughter-in-law, Shirley Downey of Oklahoma City, OK.; four grandchildren, Mechelle Bates, Ty Kennedy, Sande Garoutte, and Lynette Gianos; five great grandchildren, Cade, Campbell, and Camryn Garoutte, Margo and Elizabeth Gianos.
