Tom Carlile was killed May 18, while working as a flagman on Highway I-40, west of Sayre.

He was born October 21, 1906 and ha lived in the Carnegie and Eakly communities during his boyhood. He was married to Miss Jessie Bishop in 1928.

The Carliles moved to the Sweetwater community, in Beckham county, 1929. He was employed as school bus driver and maintenance an where until 1960, and since that time had lived in Sayre where he was employed by the highway department.
