Mrs. Irma Jean Thompson, 63, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2006 in Gulfport, MS.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Alvin Thompson; her parents, William and Ida Shoemaker; and her brother William Donald Shoemaker.

She is survived by her two sons, Steve (Shannon) Thompson of D'Iberville, MS, and Daniel (Diane) Thompson of Long Beach, MS. Two daughters, Kristy Thompson of Long Beach, MS, and Kimberly (Clayton) Nary of Biloxi, MS; Four brothers, Kenneth Shoemaker, Wendell Shoemaker, James "Pete" Shoemaker, and Mike Shoemaker, all of Gulfport, MS; Six sisters, Dorothy (David) Fayard of D'Iberville, MS, Shirley (Charles) Barnes of Navarre, FL, Carol (Mike) Dew of LaBelle, FL, Anna Shoemaker of Saucier, MS, Patricia Parker of Gulfport, MS, and Jenny (Craig) Lockridge of Cantonment, FL., and eight grandchildren.

Services are to be held Saturday, at 2:00 p.m. at Ramsey Memorial United Methodist Church on Dedeaux Road in Gulfport. Riemann Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. An online guestbook may be viewed and signed via riemannfuneralhomes.com.
