Alice came from a well known family in Western Pennsylvania. Her father was active in politics and was elected to the Pennsylvania Assembly. Her brother was like his father active in Pennsylvania politics and was elected to the Pennsylvania State Senate. She had a total of eight brothers and sisters, all of whom pre-deceased her. Alice attended California State Teachers College as well as East Los Angeles College where she majored in Nursing. She was an honor student and was a member of Alpha Gamma Sigma. She had a long honored career in Nursing and practiced at several major hospitals in the Los Angeles area. She was active in masonic organizations including the Eastern Star, White Shrine, Order of the Amarinth and Daughters of the Nile. Alice was married to George for fifty nine years. She had two sons who were born in Pennsylvania and a third child who was born after the family moved to California. She had four grandchildren who will carry on her memory.
