LOGANTON — Earl A. Embick, 78, of 28 E. Main St., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2014, at his home. He was born Oct. 30, 1936, in Carroll, a son of the late Milton E. and Mary M. (Cashner) Embick. He was married to the former Patricia Weaver who survives. Earl attended Pine Grove High School in Carroll and lived in Sugar Valley all of his life and loved the people who also lived there. He was a truck driver for various companies including Haven Homes and McCormick for more than 47 years, traveling millions of miles with no chargeable accidents. Earl enjoyed camping, hunting and horseback riding, however his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children and their spouses, Lela Brendle and Rich Beaver, of Watsontown, James and Dee Embick, of Milton, Carol and Theodore Owens, of York, Douglas and Becky Embick, of Mill Hall, Keith Erdley, of Loganton, and Virginia Hackenburg, of Lock Haven; one brother, Leonard Embick, of Greenburr; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Eugene Weaver; and five siblings, Raymond Embick, Larue Embick, Lucille Lamey, Electa Brungard and Theora Smith. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Wayne P. Urbine Funeral Home, Inc., 95 E. Main St., Loganton, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Ken Geisewite officiating. Final interment will be held in Mount Union Cemetery, Carroll.
