Mancos- Longtime La Jara resident Kenneth Edwin Guymon, 80, passed away at the Valley Inn Nursing Home in Mancos, Colorado on December 21, 2014. Kenneth was born March 28, 1934 at his family’s farm near La Jara, Colorado to Elmer and Geneva Guymon.
Kenneth was a very happy man that loved to spend his time visiting with friends and family and riding horses. He learned how to work on his dad’s ranch and took his work ethic with him when he started working at the CO-OP as well as many other numerous jobs. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and would volunteer his time to help clean the church whenever he could. When he wasn’t working with the horses or visiting with his friends and family he would spend his time enjoying his garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Elmer and Geneva Guymon, and his sisters, Betty Lue Guymon, and Geraldine McCarroll.
A funeral service will be held on at 1:00 p.m. on Friday December 26, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in La Jara. A Visitation will be held Friday, December 26 from 12:00 to 12:45 P.M. also at the church. Interment will follow at the Sanford Cemetery.
