Daily Review 12/29/1909

Abraham Ping died at 3:15 Wednesday morning at the family residence, 248 E. Orchard street. His death was caused by dropsical trouble with which he had suffered for some time. He had been confined to his bed for the past two weeks.
Mr. Ping was 72 years old. He was born in Indiana, but came to Illinois in early life and for a long time lived at Monticello. He was a carpenter and while at Monticello he and Mr. Lodge of that place got the first patent on a combined wire and picket fence. The family moved to Decatur twenty six years ago.
Mr. Ping is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Emma Painter of Oklahoma City and four sons, Charles W. Ping of Mt. Erie, Ill., Elmer M. Ping of Dakota, Minn, Claude M. Ping, who is in the bicycle business here, and Frank Ping both of Decatur.
The funeral will be held at 2:30 Thursday afternoon at the residence. The services will be conducted by Rev. J. F. Mills. The interment will be at Greenwood.

I do not believe there is a stone for Mr. Ping
