Mr. Lyle Ray King 70, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother of Ash, died Sunday, December 21, 2014 in New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born June 24, 1944 in Brunswick County, the son of the late Elroy King and Smithie Evans King.
Mr. King was a life long farmer in Brunswick and Columbus Counties, having founded and operated King Farming Enterprise. He was a member of New Britton Baptist Church. He was a board member of ATMC for twenty seven years; a former board member of Cape Fear Farm Credit, Agfirst Farm Credit Bank and Brunswick County Health Board. He was a Landbank, LLC director.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Gore King; three sons, Whitney King and wife, Suzanne of Ash, Jeremy King and wife, Becky of Ash, Neil King and wife, Gwyn of Hallsboro; grandchildren, Owen King, Hannah King, Caroline King, Emma King, Ella Rose King; a brother, Ralph King and wife, Olive of Ash; two sisters, Hilda Ray and Shelby Sellers of Whiteville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charles King and Elon King; a sister, Nelva King.
His funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, December 27, 2014 at New Britton Baptist Church by Rev. Steve Nobles. Burial will be in the Bill Inman Cemetery
