W. ELON KING, SR. Ash Mr. Wesley Elon King, Sr. 64, of Ash died Tuesday, May 14,2013 in New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born June 5, 1948 in Brunswick County, the son of the late Elroy King and Smithie Evans King. Mr. King was first and foremost a loving family man who was deeply engrained in the community he loved. He was a life long farmer, successful business man, a former member of the Brunswick County ASCS Board, and actively involved in many other endeavors. He is survived by his wife, Gail Babson King; three daughters, Melissa King Long and husband, Marlon of Ash, Becky King Noble and husband, Nesbitt of Ocean Isle Beach, Shanna King Wilkes and husband, Stephen of Ocean Isle Beach; a son, Wesley Elon "Wes" King, Jr. and wife, Ericka of Ash; grandchildren, Corey Caison, Collin Noble, Abbey and Holter Wilkes, Samantha and Eian King; two brothers, Ralph King and wife, Olive of Ash and Lyle Ray King and wife, Judy of Ash; two sisters, Hilda Ray and Shelby Sellers of Whiteville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles King and a sister, Nelva King. His funeral service will be conducted 4:00 pm Saturday, May 18, 2013 at New Britton Baptist Church. Entombment in the Inman Cemetery will be at a later date. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 Friday, May 17,2013 at Peacock Funeral Home in Whiteville. Serving as pallbearers will be Mel Ray, Chris King, Whitney King, Kyle Cox, Ricky Williams and Mark Saunders. Memorials may be made to New Britton Baptist Church 5494 Kingtown Rd., Ash, NC 28420
